Music Technology Lab

The Harrington Music room has relocated for 2008-09 into room 226 and the adjoining secondary computer lab. The new music room has a lot more room for movement, instrument storage and allows us to expand our music technology into a working Music Tech Lab! In 2006, the VH1 Save the Music Foundation donated $25,000 worth of keyboard instruments to Harrington. The 16 digital keyboards are networked together and connected to the computers through a MIDI interface to allow the instruments and computers to "talk". Each "station" has headphones for two students, a digital keyboard, a computer connected to ethernet, and a MIDI interface. Students in the lab will be using the internet and music software to review music concepts, playing games, composing and creating music, and learning basic piano keyboarding skills.
